Ingredients:
For the dough:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 egg
- 1 packet (7g) instant yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
For the filling:
- 1/2 cup poppy seeds, ground
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions:
- In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Add melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually add flour and knead until a smooth dough forms.
- Cover the dough and let it rise for about 1 hour, until doubled in size.
- Meanwhile, mix ground poppy seeds, sugar, melted butter, and milk to prepare the filling.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface. Spread the poppy seed filling evenly over the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other, forming a log.
- Cut into slices and place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Let the rolls rise for another 20-30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool slightly before serving.
