Ingredients:

For the dough:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 packet (7g) instant yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

For the topping (example: cheese and parsley)(you can serve anything you want):

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or Turkish kasar cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Optional: 1 egg (for brushing)

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Knead until a smooth dough forms (about 8-10 minutes).
  3. Cover and let the dough rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat oven to 220°C (430°F).
  5. Divide dough into equal balls. Roll each ball into an oval shape about 1/2 cm thick.
  6. Spread cheese and parsley evenly on the dough, leaving a small border around edges.
  7. Fold edges slightly inward to form a boat shape.
  8. Brush edges with beaten egg for a shiny crust (optional).
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden and cheese is melted.
  10. Serve hot.
